Great Value

Hybrid System

Solarus has developed a unique solar panel design that incorporates the photovoltaic to the original thermal system, which now delivers both heat and power (PVT(hermal)-solar panel). The use of expansive silicon in Solarus’ solar panel is much reduced as compared to a normal PV panel. Only about 30% of an effective area of a traditional solar collector surface is covered with solar cells – with equal output.

In addition to the power production there will also be a significant heat production from the same solar collector. That means that the return of investment in a hybrid will be shared between power and thermal energy production, bringing the price/kWh of power far lower than from any known PV systems of today. The hybrid version is competitive compared to a pure PV even if none of the thermal energy is used as the thermal functionality will serve as cooling for the silicon, improving performance.

Our hybrid system offers great value to our customers in places, where heat and electricity are both required. It could be an office building or a household or a production facility. Even if heat is not required, it will improve the performance of the whole panel, supplying more electricity.
