As consumers demand more eco-friendly vacation choices, the tourism industry is responding with more energy-efficient and carbon friendly resorts and hotels. Hot water and electricity are the main forms of energy consumption for hotels and resorts alike.

The Solarus solution, using the hybrid system or the thermal system together with central heating/cooling devices such as solar chillers, is able to deliver three comfort solutions in one: cooling, heating and domestic hot water (DHW). We believe such a system would be ideal for hotels to cut down their operating cost and achieve high environmental profile at the same time. The solution also ensures less dependence on the grid and less vulnerability from the rising prices of gas and electricity.

The Solarus collectors could be installed on the rooftop or backyard to capture the free solar radiation while the absorption chiller could be located in the basement or storeroom to transform the heat into cooling during summer without using electricity.The free solar radiation, which is not transformed into cooling, can be used for laundry, cleaning and shower purpose, radiant space heating, swimming pool/spa heating, and snow/ice melting applications. In sun rich regions, the investment payback time of such system is about 12 years.
